CMA acquires BearingPoint

CMA of Latham did not disclose terms ofthe deal. The Lathakm company hired 14 BearingPoint employees. CMA now has 362 CMA said it was awarded the continuation of actived projects in a bankruptcy agreementg reachedin June. Those projects with the state departments of Healtg and Education as well as the states office ofMental Health. Kay Stafford, CMA’a president, said the acquisitioj was a great opportunityy to add resourcesand expertise. BearingPoint'zs New York business grew 1,000 percent durinvg the past five years. BearingPoint has been selling off its assetss under bankruptcyreorganization protection.
The Dallas-based BearingPoint filed for bankruptcy protection in February under the weightof $1 billionm in debt. Earlier this month, Falls Va.-based (NYSE: CSC) announcedx it has entered into an agreement toacquirr BearingPoint’s Brazilian operations. The unit has 550 employeexs specializing in consulting and systems integration services in offices in Sao Rio de Janeiroand Brasilia. Also this montyh Boston-based , an information technology services company, announced it had reache d final agreement on terms to purchase assetsfrom BearingPoint’ s public services business in North America.
Last month, BearingPoint completed the sale of its Nortgh American commercial services unit tofor $44 million, and in May Deloitte LLP completed its $350 milliohn acquisition of BearingPoint’s largest busineszs segment, its North American public services practice.
